Dr Uma Ganesh

With a career spanning over two decades, Uma brings with her extensive experience in profit centre management, strategy formation, business development, entrepreneurship and human resource empowerment in Manufacturing, ICE (Information, Communications and Entertainment) and Education sectors. This includes 8 years with the manufacturing industry with Crompton Greaves and Fibre Glass Pilkington and 17 years in the IT/New Media segments with blue chip organizations: Kalzoom Technologies, NIIT, Aptech and the Zee Telefilms Group where she was the CEO of Zee Interactive Learning Systems.

Prior to founding GTT, Dr Uma was the Chief Corporate Development Officer in HSBC Global Resourcing. She was responsible for business development, strategy and Next Gen transformation.

Dr Uma has been active in various professional forums such as CII, National HRD Network and Bombay Management Association. She is currently the member of the Executive Council of National HRD Network and has been the President of NHRD Network, Pune chapter and Vice President of the organizing committee of the Commonwealth Youth Games held in Pune in 2008.

Uma has authored a book entitled ‘Unleashing the Knowledge Force’, published by Tata McGrawHill. She has been awarded Wisitex Foundation’s IT Woman of the Year for 2001 by India’s Minister for Law and Justice, Mr Arun Jaitley.

Uma has an MBA degree from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi and a PhD from IIT Bombay.
